Quality Assurance

Hygeia HMO has evolved a Quality Accreditation System which consists of the following:

Managed Care Quality Group

(MCQG) was the predecessor of the Nigerian Society of Healthcare Quality. The core of the membership consists of clinicians practicing within the Hygeia HMO clinic network. They meet monthly to produce treatment and operational protocols and guidelines for the day-to-day management of Hygeia enrollees.

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

This is a qualification issued by the Healthcare Quality Certification Board (HCQB) of the USA after successfully completing studies and examination set by the board. In May 2004, Hygeia helped in including Nigeria as an exam centre. Four of our staff became pioneer holders of this prestigious quality certificate. The body of knowledge includes quality management, quality improvement, case/care/disease/utilisation management and risk management levels in all healthcare settings.

The CPHQ programme is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies of the National Organisation for Competency Assurance in Washington D.C. It is the only voluntary certification programme in the field of healthcare quality management to achieve accreditation.
